I packed up my DEUS and met my friend Al, at a gas station a little north of New Rochelle, N.Y. He has permission to hunt a property that has a tax deed that goes back to 1804. We had to walk quite a distance because there is no street parking alongside the road that abuts the property.
I was really happy when we walked up on the hand dug well. The stone foundation of the old farm house was screaming "OLD"
My buddy's first coin was a Barber dime. Then about an hour into the hunt I got a 1929 Mercury Dime. The expectations of perhaps a Seated Coin was evaporating. We did manage a silver quarter each. Al got a worn SLQ and I got a 1941 Washington. There was evidence of recent activity on the property. (Clad and trash).
The weather doesn't look good for the next few days, so this is probably it for 2016.
Happy New Year everyone.

I think those finds are a great way to end your 2016 season! I brought home a bag full of trash today to end my 2016!
By the way, thanks for your help and advice you have given KyDigNQueen and myself this year. We hope you have a killer 2017!
Happy New Year!

I can think of lots worse ways to finish a year.

Good job and here's to a happier new year. :occasion14:

I was with Don and another friend a couple times this week but not at the usual park we see you. Found some nice silver to end the year. Hopefully it won't take too long to get our new permits for 2017. We'll get together.

Nice way of finishing off the year! Your ground is still bare and that must be great as ours has been done since the 5th of Dec.

Yeah, be careful,, one of the guys was checked by P.E.P. last week. He has a permit but didn't have it with him. They gave him a ticket. Now he has to go to a hearing. It should get dismissed once he produces his Pemit but it's a pain in the A$$.
I'll call Ms. Myers tomorrow and see if I can get some information on the 2017 applications.

Happy New Year ATW! Here's to 2016! :occasion14:
And here's hoping 2017 will bring at least twice as much treasure for all of us! :skullflag::treasurechest::headbang:

Nice to see you were hunting a permission ATW. Congrats on those 3 keepers. You finished the season on a high note.

Happy new year brother. That's a beauty looking spot. Great finds

Good job. Congrats

Looks like a great place to hunt, congratulations on the finds! :occasion14:

Here in Massachusetts, things are slowing down a bit, still hoping to hunt the usual places before I'm driven in the woods!

Nice job ATW. It looks like you ended your year with some nice finds.

Well done ATW! That spot looks good, especially the well.

Congrats.
