Nice stuff, gentlemen. Here is a crystalline Paleo from Deerfield, Ma ; Early Archaic triangle from RI, and a tray of end scrapers, usually made off damaged points.

I think it took a little skill to work with quartz. You all have some nice ones.

Yeah, and I guess when that's what you're surrounded with, you can get good at it. Most of the small stemmed points were the product of a quartz pebble industry. Sometimes the rind is still on the base of the point. They must have banged out such points quickly. And flaking is hard to see and photograph on quartz as well. You really can't see the thinning strike on this Early Archaic triangle. But angle in low artificial light, the thinning strike is then obvious....

Those look like well made quartz points as well, GatorBoy.....

Yes, I can. Before I joined the artifact forum, I thought it was actually only predominant here in New England. Wrong! And I thought most collectors looked down on quartz. Partly because we can't help but tire of white, white, white.
But, in fact people around the country like quartz more then we realized. And honestly, how can one complain about any decent point, regardless of material?

Anyone can feel free to add nice examples of quartz from elsewhere to this thread.
I love Quartz it always makes my day to find a nice point made from Quartz and you have shown some nice finds . I have Quartz and rock crystal in every frame . Here's a example .

Nice to see all this quartz! Since moving to VA, I kinda got an over-dose and was lamenting the sole findable lithic, but I've changed my mind 180 degrees (you can also see some 'other' quartz on my post on the Rocks and Gems forum ;)). Here's a few of my favorites from MD. Great thread!

Nice as always, Dennis.

Hey yakker, I can see why you had a change of heart:-) Sweet points. Nice range of styles and that is one killer triangle!

All good, love the pics. Thanks to all contributors!
And "yakker" nice stuff, but after seeing your glove I think we need to take up A collection and buy you a new pair, LOL, I honestly thought for a moment that the thumb of your glove was a prehistoric artifact![emoji6]

They're not all good. Would not be quartz if they were. Today I found what may be my all time ugliest point. So in stark contrast to that Waratan and all the other nice quartz points, there's this. First photo just to prove it is a point. The field is 95% small stem quartz points. This is not a pretty point....
