Mid-Late Archaic Morrow Mountain varient; I would guess.

Sounds reasonable. Hard to type points like that, especially when made of quartz.

Size?

Nice material for sure, but to me doesn’t resemble a point, maybe the pointy end was hafted and the round end a blade.

My bad on the dimensions.

Always wondered if such a pretty piece was ever used.

Here's a 'blade' or 'knife' I assume is quartz, with a dark vein - could it be flint? Found in Onondaga Lake area, central New York. Also, even though I lightly washed this specimen with warm water and a old toothbrush, much rusty debris still adhere to it. Is this the 'mineralization' I have read about: an indication of its age, of its being in contact with soils for a l-o-n-g time? Thanks!!

A lot of points from the southeast were made of quartz. There wasn't a lot of good material native to some of the areas. Quartz is hard to form & the point usually wind up looking crude, when compared to chert.

I'm a little East of Chickamauga Battlefield.

Would you mind sharing a pic or two from the Lookout Mountain finds?

This is the only other quartz I have to show. Same Property.
