no directions needed.
if you hooked it up correctly, all you need to know is how to flip a toggle,
and use a probe.

of course remember to flip the toggle back to detector after use.
I spent a few times searching & not getting signals, till I realized the switch was still on probe.
& worse getting a signal from my pocket everytime I swung to the left :laughing7:

another reason to say thanks to all who participate in this forum...I feel like I already have the"forgetting the toggle switch" thing licked! I have seen SO many posts warning of the same thing, It got embedded in my mind weeks before I purchased. We'll see, so far about 60 uses and no forgetting. I did want to ask again

does the probe need to be ground balanced?

I was surprised at how little information there is out there on these probes, and the web site has little in the way of support info.

no

the detector runs through the probe.

without a detector the probe is just a box,
do not flip the toggle to probe & ground balance,
or you will need to flip to detector & ground balance again after.

IF your detector needs to be ground balanced before you detect,
ground balance like normal before you detect.

in all honesty there is no real reason for there to be much info.

the only adjustment I ever expierenced was with my first Explorer,
running the explorer with high sensitivity, & trying to pinpoint with the probe;
the probe detected all the way up the sides & through the wire.
was impossable to tell if the object was in the bottom of the hole, or side,
or what side, or in the dirt i pulled out. I also had to put my detector fruther away from me.

once I lowered the Explorers sense it worked correctly. with the detection area at the tip
of the probe.

Sunrays are the deepest probes made, because your detector is the power behind the probe
