Hi all it has rained here now 4 days in a row and getting worse tonight its going to pour with winds hitting 50mph , i had to get out between storms even for a hour , the fields are plowed up so they drain fast but all that wet dirt is prefect :hello2: anyway i found a few things 2 copper flat buttons one is blank the other i can read -- York 1778 plus i think i have 2 pewter on lead buttons real bad shape fried , i hit a good signal a large lead shot ball that is my 5th in those potato fields and all different sizes , a Porcelain bottle top ? i looked it up it says S. Goldberger 1 Forsyth St. NY i found nothing about it ? and of course lots of iron not shown . That is it the rains are back for a few more days  HH Jim

Nice finds - the porcelain stopper is probably from a beer bottle, but can't find a brewer by that name. This type was used from 1875 to 1920. The stoppers are collectible. See www.rustycan.com

Nice going on the digs. Yes that is a porcelain bottle stopper, most likely closer to 1900. I found one just like it a few weeks back in CT. Here is a link about them:

And here is mine:
