Back in 2005 I found a very rare free slave tag that made W & E Treasures top finds for that year. Now in 2010 I made another rare find only this time it's a coin. Dug this one a few weekends ago in a pounded colonial site. It just goes to show you can't dig it all.A friend told me it was pounded and that everybody and his brother had been in it. I told him I hadn't been there yet :laughing7: I was trying out my new omega 8000. I usually hunt with a T2 LTD and love it, but this little detector is going to make me some great finds. Shoot with this coin it sure is one heck of a way to break it in ;D. it's a 1795 flowing hair half dime, and the condition is amazing!Hope you enjoy the pics!

A cheap one until I can decide on a very good brand-name one to buy.

I'm still amazed that this $6,000-$8,000 coin find didn't make the finds banner. It's worth more and has more eye appeal than most of the items up there.

Holy crap...I'm glad this thread got brought back to the top or I never would have seen it. This coin is INSANE! !!!! WOW WOW WOW!!!! I know this might sound like a dumb question, but how does one tell if it's a half dime, dime, etc because there is no denomination on it? Is it based off of size/weight? I'm super new to this and I want to absorb as much knowledge from all of you as possible!

There are a handful of old coins that do not have denominations on them. Research and interest in the hobby are the quickest way to learn what your asking about. PCGS had an excellent free app that shows about 99% of old coins and their grades. I keep it on my phone for identification purposes.
