I found a 1926 lincoln wheat cent today in my loose change (always have to check the change, never know what you'll find) , but this one is different from all the rest i have found. It dosent have a copper color its redish colored. I dont know much about coins, so I thought I'd ask the ppl in here. Sorry I dont have a way to get a pict, but the coin is in fair shape, a little worn, but not beat up. Any help would be greatly appreicated.
Thanks,

Copper coins start out red fresh out of the mint. If your coin looks red but is a bit worn, someone did something to it. It might be discolored but whatever it is, it is not natural.

Cleaning those Lincoln cents will pften dull the finish and give the coin an off redish color.
Put some lye on it, that will turn it back dark brown to black.
