Go online and check for parks in your area, all the ground is old, you want somewhere where a lot of people visited. Old churches, neighbors homes, etc.

Relic Hunting
Put on some clean duds and shave. Drive around and when you see a place that looks good, go up to the door, SMILE, and introduce yourself. Let them know you don't make a mess and I'm sure someone will let you search somewhere.
I do this all the time. I have done this all over the country .
If you think about it a good percentage of detectorist's are shy/timid to go up and ask or talk to the owners.

There are some real good finds in peoples back yard just waiting to be dug.
