I found this cross in the ocean and it was in rough shape. A while in the tumbler and it now looks great. I can't make out the markings but they look Greek to me. Can anyone shed more light on the age of this cross and the origin? I appreciate any responses. Happy Hunting!

Thanks for the response. Is that a date in the middle by Jesus' hands? I looks like 19 on the left and I can't make out the right.

Beautiful crucifix find, Detectorinator!
I believe that the lettering on the hands of Jesus translates to "Jesus" ( IC ) and "Christ" ( XC)

Here is further explanation I found on a web site:

Just above the crossbeam of the cross we usually see the stretched-out inscription IC SN’ B ZH I XC. The IC and XC are read first, followed by the rest. All together it reads Isous Khristos Suin Bozhiy — “Jesus Christ [the] Son of God.”

is it silver or no
I'm almost certain it is just because of how it looked before and after the tumbler. There appears to be a mark on the clasp but it is so small I can't make it out even with my magnifying glass.
