One of the forums I post on is www.usparatroopers.us . They have guys that know guys that can look up the records of guys that claim AIRBORNE , RANGER , SEAL , UDT , MARINE FORCE RECON etc. . If you ever were a BTDT it can be done in only a few words and paying attention to the answer . If not just jump over to the site and check the poser out . I had to check out the husband of an RN that worked at my DR's office . She said he should go for VA medical since he was military . He claimed Navy SEAL "secret squirrel" status whose missions were so delicate that his records were purged . The group known as VERISEAL checked him out . POSER !!!!! I told her that I couldn't find anyone to help . She was a nice person . I couldn't bear to tell her . I know of that site (Stolen Valor) but haven't fully checked it out . I hope they explain the rules clearly . Telling some babe that you were a SEAL while trying to charm her in a bar is not really a crime . Even wearing some items don't pass muster for criminal POSER . BUT , there are things that can get your appendage in a ringer .

when did you go to jump school,,, i went 2001 oct/nov ft benning ga

GawdAlmighty... how I LOATH these fake bassads... I often run into them, they start telling me about 'their' special unit, and I see through their story in just a few sentences. Me, I was nothing other than US Army Combat Engineer... 12 Bravo. In Armor or Mech Divisions for my 20 year career. LINE DOG! Engineers LEAD the way! So many times I have seen armor or infantry Task Forces stopped by an obstacle. Who they gonna call? It dadgummed ain't 'Ghostbusters'... It's their Engineer support. Combat Engineers... We go where others fear to tread.

I was working one night at the Kennedy Space Center. A couple of electric power transformers blew up nearby during a thunderstorm. As we gathered, one of the leutenants said they sounded like mortars walking in on their position in Vietnam. I looked at him and asked, "You in Vietnam?" He responded, "NO, but I was old enough." Very funny indeed! TTC

When I got out of the service at Ft. Jackson, a lot of guys were changing out of their Class A's, and throwing them in the restroom trash bins. Medals, unit citations - trashed. It was 1976, and there were still people in the major airports calling us "baby killers," corporate whores," spitting at us and basically trying to make us feel like criminals. Sometimes I still tear up watching people walk up to soldiers in airports now, and thank them.

If you steal the valor of a true hero, you need to be publicly shamed.

I joined the Army in 1975, as you know back then when you traveled Class A uniform was required. I never did hear any negative remarks when I traveled. I was not treated well but never any bad comments that I can remember, of course being a buck private, maybe they could tell I was new. Anyway, I think it is great the way our military are treated. I can be mistreated all day long, as long as my son's (one Navy and one Army) are treated with due respect.

A contestant for the recent American Idol claimed to be an injured veteran with a tear jerking story. His old buddy's turned the fool in to stolen valor. He apologized and was kicked off the show. Ted Nugent as well, is a turd. He had college deferment for two years. yet, he was touring 300 days a year. Then he got a medical by crapping his pants, ect. He has told his story several times. Funny. Too cowardly to fight for his country. Now he calls himself a Patriot and wants to fight his country.

While I don't agree with Terrible Teddy's actions I do stand by his right as a citizen of the United States of America to do what he wants/has to do. That is why I wore the uniform, not because I was told
to, I volunteered to, It was my choice. I made mine and he made his, no hard feelings either way.

Hey Terry, I came back from the Med in March of 1972 and we were ordered not to where our uniforms going back to the states. I traded mine to gypsies from cyprus. When I arrived at JFK I was asked if I was military and when I answered yes I was escorted out with my bags, "Welcome Home-HaHa".....Joe

After the Viet Nam War, I started meeting so many guys claiming to be ex-SEALs I thought I'd puke. After reading Marchenco's memoir, I learned some minor details that I've been able to work into conversations and tell if the person is a phoney. Those fools are trying to cash in on the reputations of better men than they.

One reason I don't particularly like Sylvester Stallone is he was hiding in college on an education deferment during Viet Nam; then, made his Rambo series as a misunderstood "hero". PUKE!!!!!

I wasn't in Special Ops, but I am proud of my time as a Crewchief of a Weapons Loading Team in a Special Ops Squadron at Bien Hoa, AB, RVN.

My daughter and I met Richard Marcinko a few years back around Christmas while at Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek. He had just finished signing his new book as we walked by. He struck up a conversation with my 8yr old who had paused in front of his table while holding a small bag of dog food. He commented how many times in a pinch he's eaten dog food and how it's not that bad. She thought it was silly but I understood the necessity of it. It was cool that a guy who could take over the base with the items in the sporting good isle was having a heart to heart with my baby girl as if he was the most inert person on the planet.
It was damned cool.

Have you read Marcinko's Rogue Warrior? A good read! TTC

Not as of yet. I do have it on my e-reader and its in cue.
I have the paperback AND put it on my nook book for later re-read. Why is the commander-in-chief trying to punish some for leaking "shadow ops" yet he is making sure he gets ALL the credit for Bin Laden death? TTC

Mission Statement:
AMVETS' intent as a leading veterans advocacy group is to protect the valor and honor of our true American heroes and the integrity of their hard-earned awards. ReportStolenValor.org is a new public awareness campaign initiated by concerned veterans to safeguard our proud culture and the values of our community. We accomplish this by presenting an accurate and reliable tool to educate concerned citizens about the Stolen Valor Act of 2005 and help facilitate the reporting of suspected Stolen Valor offenders to federal authorities and the news media.

Well, I tried just that. Twice. After filing a report they say they'll email you. Well 8 weeks later. No email. I am a big supporter of the stolen valor act. USAR Ret.

I need everyone to check this guy out.. Go through all his posting and claims....https://www.facebook.com/obrian.mayers.9?fref=ts

It looks to me like you found a complete liar. This person appears to be posting photos from news articles and is trying to pass them off as his own.

For example, he most recently changed his profile picture on April 16th. But that is a picture of retired Major Brian Chontosh being awarded the Navy Cross by General Michael Hagee, Commandant of the Marine Corps.

April 9th, a picture of someone carrying the nuclear football. That is a stock image from around 2011.

April 9th, a picture of 3 agents on a rooftop. The photo was taken by Rudolph Brown, a journalist.

April 9th, two pictures. The top one is another photo by a journalist in Jamaica. The bottom one was taken by Mark Bonifacio and is in New Jersey, not Jamaica.

I could go on. But you get the idea. The guy is a fake.

I personally like his "ACTIVITIES" :

1. Traveling
2. Partying
3. National Security
4. Central Intelligence

If his activities include Central Intelligence, that says to me he is intimating that he works for the CIA. HAHAHA I would love to meet this guy and talk to him for a few minutes!

In the middle of a crowded intersection. I don't care. When the cops show up, and I explain why I am stomping a mudhole in this guys arse, they would probably join in (as long as nobody has a cell camera)HAHAHA!

Nothing worst then a fraud !! The AF gives medals away like candy. I have a chest full of them and I have done nothing but go to work every day .. The ones that matter are the ones earned . I have seen a few people get bronze stars for logistic work vs combat... Just don't seem right.

You are right there. An Air force guy running for office in my home town has a bronze star for doing his job. An office job. His job was something with budgets i believe.
