Something I aim to do- gold every month. Or a gold coin... Lol luckily I've been working my old junior high built in 1950. I think it's virgin grounds. In the last two weeks I've almost got ten dollars every day just from the top inch. Trying to work down to the lower layers. Bet there is gold somewhere. Hopefully something as nice as yours! Hope more is your future!

Thanks, Loco... I paid more attention, this time to how I felt pulling it up. Same thing.. Just kind of a muted response. No mind-blowing excitement... Actually some of it was just RELIEF. I was afraid my streak of finding gold every month was coming to an end! LOL

That being said, I've been looking at it all afternoon, Golem style. I totally dig the experience (pun intended), but it's like me and roller coasters, I enjoy them, but I don't get off the ride yelling like a madman.

OH! (epiphany). I just realized I've NEVER done that with any of my gold finds. Even my first one was pretty solemn. I totally had a grin on my face all day (just like I do now...). The closest I got was taking the 81 diamond ring into the box store to have it checked for real diamonds. My son and I were feeding off each other on that one, with some whoops as we left the store!

But the finds? I think it has something to do with the fact that it was BEAT INTO MY HEAD by reading all the forums that the safest thing you can do when you find a great find is to ACT NORMAL. It's more habitual now, than anything!

I can pull a gold ring, and the most you'll see me do, is take a peak around. If nobody is watching, I'll take a picture, otherwise, it goes into the pouch, and I continue on...

Ahh.. but INSIDE... inside, I'm beaming. :)

Good for you Skippy, I can sense the elation you are enjoying and understand how you may want to keep it on the "down-low" when you find a treasure like that ring. At least you can open up to us and express your true feelings.

Very sweet, that's a beauty of a find.
I try to stay low key whenever I scoop or dig a gold ring or gold jewelry. However, that doesn't mean I'm not hiding an ear to ear smile.
I need to find a jeweler who might want to purchase quality rings at an above melt value price. It seems to be a waste to let a pretty ring go for scrap.
Congrats again on a really nice find.
