Here's a couple of photos showing where I evidently nicked the Bodkin w/my Lesche. Sure is shiny under that dark grey color. Maybe silver?

Yep It's pewter looking to me.Also british have marked there silver for a long time so it would have silver marks.Also if you read the site below about pewter spoons # 217 it has the same mark as your it the pic. above.

Some pewter just holds up better then other I think it's got more lead in it.And has a differrent look then what we mainly think of as pewter we dig.Here are some i've found to show you what I mean.

Nice looking piece, I've come across that Hi Lead pewter too, "geniune" pewter shouldn't contain any...
I think a lot of early items were made from alloys of whatever was available
to throw in the pot
