Had to run to the store today, and while heading there I saw what looked like Plastic Buckets scattered along the road, Some crushed & thought Hmmm, I have to go back this way :laughing7:

Pulled off the road on my way Back & started Grabbing .
Of the 9 MA Industries 12" tall 6" wide ( Cylinder Molds Actually )
Untitled.jpg

one is split down the side and I should have left it Lay.

as I was loading the First 6 I look up & see a state policeman coming towards me,
& my first thought is "here We Go" so I smile & give him a Quick Wave
as he goes by , Hits his Left turn signal & looks like he was going to attempt
a 3 Point Turn. but instead he drove back a dirt road :dontknow:
(call of nature, Answering a Report, Or just going back to stay out of Trouble, I don't Know)
but being he didn't come back right away, I went for more. My guess I missed a few Good ones Yet. what was left of The Cardboard crate looked fairly Large.
(20 per Case)
I may look for more there next time I go by .

Looks like a perfect container to story all the unidentified iron stuff I have lying around. If they had tops, you could bury all your gold and silver in them for the apocalypse.

great finds Jeff...my wife always yells at me when i do that...but not when i picked up a brand new oven free and sold it for 450...

Yea I'm always watching the Gutters.
I'll pick up most anything along the road I see, that I can get a use out of.
I'm not 100% sure of the Legality, But odds are if there is nobody in sight
& no sign of a Recent Crash . odds are they left it as litter imo :dontknow:

Years ago (probably mid to late 60's, I wasn't driving age yet.) a truck load of frozen chicken Legs crashed on the Hegins mountain
My dad and Several of the Neighbors were Given all the 40 Lb cases of Chicken they could Handle :laughing7:
allot of freezers got filled back then :laughing7: Now it would probably be illegal not to let it all go to a landfill :(

Man I could use a few of those...

AND they would mak great underwater viewers by cutting off base an replacing with plexi via 5200.

Great for alum tube and strip scraps holder... sheesh planters... on and on.

Good ground score Jeff.

I'm always watching the ditching and shoulders for something good that might have been lost. 99.9% of the time it's trash or a busted up cooler. I watched a suitcase fly off the top of a van on I-70 and go bouncing along the shoulder flying apart. The van stopped but I kept thinking that I sure hope they didnt have any electronics in that suitcase!

Almost forgot, I picked this up a few minutes earlier today when I first pulled out my driveway.
Had to do a U'eee for it.
Thought it was a tarp Tie Down index.jpg From a Coal truck.

But turned out to be a Hose.

DSCF0002.JPG

Probably blown somewhere, But since I stopped I took it along :laughing7:

My most unusual road Find, along the Interstate was this

Hose looks like a washer hose.

I retract that... IT IS... a washer hose.

Thanks ! I was thinking Pressure Hose from a Coal Truck or Tractor Trailer
As I had no Idea :tongue3:

I'm thinking washer hose too. Nice job on the canisters, maybe you should post them for sale on Craig's list or something...

JEFF NICE FREE FINDS AND NEEET IDEA RCA I MEAN DANG AARC LOL . THEY WOULD MAKE NICE VEIW FINDERS FOR WATER SEARCHING .

yea Pretty Much :laughing7: I don't remember allot from My early Pre-teen years.
But I do remember open Landfills, Public & illegal Stripping pit Dumps.
& our weekly trips with my Dad to
Rummage through them.

I am always looking alongside the road / highway for a canvas kit bag chock full of crisp new $100 notes from a armored car crash that "no one found" in the dark & is probably covered by insurance!.

As you may have gathered.... I am still looking! :laughing7:

Good job Jeff. Didn't need a shade tree for that one! LOL

I have ALWAYS watched the ground, even as a youngster! Guess I was born to this hobby.

My best ground find was that Fly-Rod, complete with case I posted back a while ago.

Thanks for keeping our highways clean! :)

I just ran into Family Dollar.
On the way in & on the way Back I was checking the Spot again.
Saw one Bucket on the opposite side the road, So I grabbed it.
Got home here & see the Bottom needs Repair. No big Deal.
still works :laughing7:

I think I figured out what Happened .
pendot vegetable management.
looks like they Mowed along the road recently.
My guess the Crate was sitting in the Tall grass
& the Mower hit it. That would also explain the Chopped up Buckets & Crate.
would have been nice to get there first.

We called them Slurry Tubes. When we did concrete pours on the train tracks, we always had to take a sample from each truck.
Cut an angle. Drill a few holes, slap on a door pull, and by golly, you got a sand scoop, lol
