Found today a shot musket ball at one of Wheeler's sites and two feet away was this piece shown with the ball. Musket ball is slightly flattened as it has been shot....not as flat as it appears from this overhead shot. I first thought the item in question might be a rosette but then thought it was something from a saddle. The second pic is the back after it was cleaned. Is it modern? Any ideas?

Click on pics and they will expand to see closeup detail. The back of the item has threads inside of the center and it looks like ridges around the outside 'hub'.

My guess would be a drawer pull as well. It's a pretty one, though.:icon_thumleft:

Saddle Conch , sounds like something un savory ha ha ...... keep on swinging there maybe some good stuff will show up ....a musket ball is a good sign and a dresser draw pull is a good sign there was a home there ...
