The WMAQ badge (those letters are shown inside an outline of a broadcast microphone) undoubtedly refer to WMAQ-AM, Chicago.
At one time, the station was broadcast from nearby Bloomingdale, IL on 670 kHz at 50,000 watts - a very powerful station.

According to the Wikipedia entry, WMAQ's first broadcast (under those call letters) was Oct 2, 1922.

Tony, I think you're onto something here... my first thought was 'salesman samples' as well.
Lairmo & Ben are also correct in thinking, "maybe an employee collection from the badge company since their so varied and pristine." :thumbsup:
