Saw a lonely lady just Standing there, but couldn't get a date!

Went to an old school for a little while Friday afternoon and hit the woods behind it. Found a few keepers, a school fare token, some Wheats, a good luck token, the usual WA tax token and a Sterling ring that looks to have been cut off. Also found a pile of clad from the mid-sixties and the SLQ that had the typical date worn off.
Was happy to get out since it had been a while, went turkey hunting for a week which is always a fun trip.

Great finds, I know what you mean about the WA tax tokens. I"ve got a pile of them too.

What would you guess the depth at on that SLQ?

I must not be looking in the right spots.

Hey Jim,
I can tell you exactly how deep it was...one half inch!!! Yes, I'd like to say I worked hard and heard a slight beep and dug 9 inches, but no. I got a good hit and it showed as so shallow I thought it was junk or a clad coin. I swiped away some leaves and some surface dirt and there it was! Shocked the heck outta me.

Nice finds that dirt must of been worked recently for a shallow SLQ like that. Good Find Dd60

Thanks Nate! I did the hen calls for the guys. I acted as the "guide" for my brother and nephew who got their birds. I finally got a chance on the last day to get a nice tom but ended up knocking out some feathers is all. First year I came home without a turkey, but it was a great time, it's the hunt that counts as we all know!

The tax token is from WA State and I found it in Tacoma. Seems like they are popping up more than Wheats. Had been finding a ton of those on past hunts.

Nice finds!!! I found that same ring a few weeks ago!!! I think the seem is actually a solder point. Great finds and happy hunting!!

Yes I have found quite a few broken silver rings. I find it fascinating that the signal will ring lower conductivity when the rings are broken. Did yours come in lower on your meter than silver? Mine always do. I once got a gold ring in the middle of a bunch of holes and I think that it came in very low on the meter, much lower that it should have.

I love those standing quarters, I have only ever found one with a date but it was burned in a fire, so my search goes on.

How about a picture of the SLQ's backside? This is, after all, the day women are supposed to wear something revealing in order to prove or disprove the theory that doing so causes earthquakes.
