ican't go to the place i want to yet,, too much snow still.. :'( :'( :'( :'(
but i hit a 1700's farm i've been doing off and on for a few years now..
i got there today, jumped the stone wall, turned on my tector, walked
5 feet and got a weak penny dimeish hit,, bad tone, bad icons, overall
terrible signal at 6 in'.. i was diggin all anyway, and this was just another nail hit,
once i got 4 in' out, it changed to a nice quarter hit.. stuck in the pinpointer and
located a king george,, looks like 1764....
had a blast out there !!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Great coppa, my metal detecting friend. I don't believe the King George II coppas were minted after 1760. Don, we need your professional metal detecting coppa identification assistance.

Keep the fever high, Green.

just a friendly suggestion, you may want to lower the amount of JPEG compression you used to save your images, they seem to be very blocky or "pixilated" on my end.

Yes, Geo. I.

Bust facing right? There are obvious differences for Geo. I compared to the later Georgies so you should be able to confirm things even if the date isn't real clear.

It looks like a King George II, which is a left facing bust.

P.S. Don, we are dying without you, my man. :D

This is a good lesson for those reading this.

I have loved iffy signals for a few years now. I HATE to think what I left in the ground in the early days. I actually get more excited about a iffy signal than a clear crisp one as they often turn out to be Roman coins.

Well done & keep digging em up :)

I cannot say for sure what the coin is, the pixels are showing too much for IDing the details, but it does not look like a King George I to me, I almost lean more towards KGII, but again, photographs of low quality are hard to distinguish.
However,I will post a King George I later today that I found this morning and the difference I hope is rather plain to see. :D

Great score Green !!

Green 1 KG coppa - Old farm dirt 1 less coppa ;)
