Lots of people wish they could. Being a Pulse, it loves to respond to long tiny pieces of iron like bobby pins, pins, pieces of wire, you name it. It is deeper than the Excal by a little.

My back up for my Excal is my Fisher CZ20 or the Tiger Shark. Both have excellent disc. and the Tiger Shark can find thin gold chains which the Excal can not. If your not going in the water why not get a Sovereign GT. It is excellent with a WOT coil too.

You will just have to use your ear mainly on discriminating iron. You can use discrete trask elimination setting which helps on identifying iron bits. But the benefit of the Sea Hunter is that it is deeper detecting than the Excal. So it is a trade off in a way, more iron crap but deeper gold will show up, esspecially with the 10x14 mono coil, which is very light weight for that size coil. Good luck.
