Today was an amazing day for me metal detecting. I found a metal army man. A 1945 War nickel. An 1887 indian head penny, A 1946 silver dime, and a 1876 sitting liberty half or dollar that has been converted into jewelry with the intials WCP. Id say this is my best day yet.. Oh i also found a 1945 wheat.

[Everything everyone has said], plus the fact that the engraving is beautifully-done.

I wonder how you'd get something that unique appraised. Antiques Road Show?

WOW! Beautiful artwork on the token ! Someone spent alot of time to carve that monogram..It looks like it was made into a brooch or pin..theres solder marks on the back.

Top shelf in anyones collection.

Very nice love token, our club had a guest speaker back in the early 90's who was at the time I believe the President or some officer of the Love Token Society. He had quite a display of Love Tokens. I took mine to that meeting and he loved it, said to be done on both sides was unusual and offered to buy it on the spot, which I turned down. I found mine in a drained lake and it has that blueish black tint to it.
He stated it is fine to clean a love token, but I never did clean it. So if you want to put that in a ultra sonic jewelry cleaner, it is unlike a coin, you will not ruin the value, it is no longer a coin, but a token.

It had to be a brooch being that big, not exactly meant for wearing around the neck or on the wrist that is for sure. Again, very nice find.

Here is the URL for the Love Token Society, lots of good info on this site, also attached mine(Quarter size) to show a two sided one. :)

That is the best engraving I have ever seen on a love token. Beautiful piece!

Oh! The other stuff is good too.............lol. Just kidding, it's all good, but that love token is fabulous! My Seated Quarter love token pales in comparison. I also have an engraved cufflink made from an early seated dime and half dime together. That one is real nice, but again, your token/brooch is incredible!

A big congratulations to you !!!

.................HH By the way, how does one tell what order the initials are in when they are stacked like that?

What a lovely "Love token". A lot of detailed and loving work went into it.

I am surprised no one yet tried to tie it to the KGC

Thanks for sharing it with us

That is one intricate love token. I found a 1890 seated dime one that is just carved with caligraphy initials. It's nice but not quite as good as yours. A sweet find and I'm happy for you.
