Seated halfdime, dimes,LC, CW button, Indians, Morphine bottle, & Misc.

For the last two weeks I have been pounding a few field sites before the crops come up and found a few goodies. I was on my way back to the car after a 1 button day and found the halfdime.
It was a rush to see that small silver disc sticking out of the plug. The LC and CW button were 20 feet apart. Luckily the best of the Indian heads was the 1876 semi key date.
The Mrs Wilson's Soothing Syrup was sold from 1850 until outlawed in 1909.
It was Morphine and recommended for teething pain. It became known as the baby killer.

I think the "Morphine" in your title sold me. Ahh, always nice to see a "Mrs. Winslows Soothing Syrup" bottle. Here in Denver digging one will cause us to stop, slow down, and really concentrate on the area. Curious, is the turquoise ring/broach item real turquoise, and is that what appears to be a snake wrapped around it? All in all, I would kill to have a day like you did. Only humans, of course.

The wrap is a snake--unusual--maybe from India.
It took two weeks to make those finds but I enjoyed every minute.

I tell you Merf. I really would like to have that I.O.O.F. Button you found there. The one with the 3 links, all seeing eye, Heart in the hand and staff. That button reminds me of my I.O.O.F. collection. I really like it. Really awesome finds you found there. I wish I had a spot like that to dig.

The field hunting spots are about dried up as almost all are planted now and I am not allowed to hunt them.
Maybe after the harvest we can meet and hunt a couple of spots. Merf

merk, that turquoise snake brooch is late 1800's, when snake motif jewelry was popular. Not from India. Probabaly Victorian in age.

That Mrs. Winslow's was strong enough to kill the pain of the "World News and Events" forum. It is very good stuff!

Notice I have a bottle of it next to me in my avatar. Here is another picture of an 1860s example I found. Notice the embossing is a little different.

I also read that the soothing syrup was used by many returning CW troops to kill the pain of their war injuries. A blessing for some and a curse for others.

My bad, I look before I read. I would kill for day, let alone a couple of weeks of digging that you've had. And on second viewing that IOOF is really a keeper.

What does the button with the English registry mark date to??

As for the turquoise looking ring, looks to be more modern make, costume.

Excellent assortment of finds. My field hunting is all but done now that most of the crops are in here. Good luck if you make it back out to the fields.
