I have the QXT Pro, but it seems to be almost the same as the Quantum XT. I like to hunt for coins and rings and Ive had pretty good luck finding both. The setup that works best for me is to work in the coin mode leaving the discrimination on. Boost up the sensitivity to about 18. Set the
discrimination edit to accept everything 1-8. Noise reduction to off and VCO on. Then I set the tone ID to accept zones 7,5 and 4. Or if it's real trashy I set tone ID for 7 only. You hear a lot of sounds this way but you can ignore most of them, but when you hit a coin or ring it really lets you know it. I really like the the QXT, it's the only detector I've ever owned, but I can't find any reason to upgrade as it finds everything I'm looking for.
