Well, in Canada we call 'em "fishscales". Same diameter but a little less weight than American half dimes. I've dug a bunch of these, but this is my first 1905 so I was pretty happy about that. Was a beautiful evening to be out! Really crisp looking Edward, it's been a while since I've dug up a fishscale.

Congrats JC.

I found my first half dime this year, and was just amazed how small they are. I can see how they would be lost easily.

I wish you the best of luck in the field!

Thanks A2. Your 1921 dime would be a George V. He was the king right after the Edward on my fishscale. And you found a Vicky quarter--that's a really great find! Feel free to throw any old Canadian silver you find back over the border [emoji12]

No doubt they are small! The ones I find are usually in great shape, they must have gotten lost quickly due to their small size. This fishscale is my 27th one dug lol
