Shell base from the Alfalfa Field....

I took my brother on his firt CW relic hunt to some fresh cut alfalfa field's in Sharpsburg yesterday.He actually came away with his first Antietam .58 and I came away with some pretty good keeper's myself including a Zouave button and a gnarly chewed bullet.My best find for he day was this 10# Parrott wrought iron cup sabot shell base,I've got a Read with the copper sabot but have never seen one with an iron one so this is my first.I'll put it under some electrolysis and clean it up later.Thank's for looking

Nice Parrot Base Joe. I dug the whole top section to one a couple months ago...Haven't gotten around to doing electrolysis on it yet though!
