there are some books on some of the wrecks, a guy i work with has dived an a few and have read some of his books, dont remember any names, couldnt believe how many ships that went down on the Great Lakes

Try your local library. I lived outside of a small town in Michigan and the library had a huge assortment of books on Superior and other Great Lakes Shipwrecks.

They were great reading and really get the imagination firing on all eight. There were also stories about the pirates of the Great Lakes and listed many of the islands used as strongholds.

I'd sure love to explore those islands.
