You clean that up with a toothbrush and a little olive oil and that would be something for a display box. Very nice.

As you know, your unlikely to ever get one in a ploughed context. I have had a couple but sadly they were the plain type with no decor :P

If you do a bit more pasture, you should get one much quicker.

Thanks everyone!, I wish there was a detecting exchange program where hammered could come here and I could hop the pond and he can find his buckle and I can find some of the amazing things you guys pull over there!

The buckle is neat. But I thought this was neat as well as I seen in another post you guy's were digging in a CW camp & this one also came from a CW camp.Scoll down here PC2533 very simular.

Take Care,
Pete, :hello:
Hmm...I do see the that the flower pattern and location are very similar, I wonder if the buckles were made by the same manufacturer. I pulled mine at a colonial site and apparently it dates back to the mid 18th century, I've never detected a civil ware site but I'd sure like to! I sure do wish I was into detecting when I was in West Virginia on a trip!

Maybe he didn't take you to the camp site :dontknow: :laughing7:
Some more pics. I have some things to take shots of, just don't have time right now. Will update tomorrow. I actually found two of the "what is it" #3. They were found near the shoe buckle at the the civil war camp.
