This was our last chance on this field until harvest next year & we only had a small detecting window (2 hours 45 minutes), so we gridded on as per norm.

Nothing outstanding but I'm very please with the early 1800s 27th Enniskillen Regiment Button - A long way from home! Also my Great Grandad was in the Inniskilling Regiment in WWI.

2 Tudor Buttons (complete)
Cut Qrter Shortcross Hammered
17th C Pot Handle
Jetton
Leather Mount
Knife Terminal
14th C Buckle & plate

Not bad for a short hunt. I would be happy with the buckle. Never get one with plate....

Yes, I now have an expert view on it:

Its to the 27th Regt of Foot, which was the Enniskillen Regt of Foot. The design was little changed from 1775-1881, however there is one clue to date them slightly. The early versions show 'Enniskillen' whilst later it becomes 'Inniskilling' so yours saying Enniskillen is pre 1840. It also stated elsewhere that pre 1813 they were completely flat whilst post this date they became slightly convex, so I would tentatively date yours from cica 1816-40.

Thanks for showing us so many of the relics you & CruDad unearth! VERY special button due to your great-grandad being in the regiment! :wav:

I was lucky enough to know my great-grandmother well, and treasure all the common sense she displayed, thus teaching us young ones.
HAVE FUN! STAY WARM! Andi

I must have missed that one while out of town this weekend. That's another nice example of a 1650-1700 latten spoon bowl, and very similar to ones I've dug here. I can't quite make out the maker's mark on yours. If you have the time maybe you could get a close-up of that and post it.

It's a common 3 spoons, similar to the above but with a 'P' to the right. Maybe something above.
