Here is my 2 cent coin from last year that I still have to work on the face as it's all crudded up. There is some nice detail on the back though. This was found with my Tejon about 10+ inches and had no problem reading it.

I stopped posting because i find, too many good things with my tejon. but for this post i will show the most recent, and by the by forget about the minelabs, i'm trading mine in for a cortez. (for a backup)

fleur de lis, itty bitty allen caliper, va half penny, spur....etc

most recent was the fleur de lis insignia the gun caliper and an eagle cuff button

Its an Eagle I cuff button cleaned with petroleum jelly, turned out nicely. found it around a huge old tree with a regular buckle, and a cleaner bullet surrounded by barbed wire, can imagine a soldier standing up and getting caught in the barbed wire and loosing those items. First nice button I've found that has the back to it, and one i haven't broke.

So my " OUTLAW " found this .41 extra long rim fire casing and bullet. The bullet was found at an army fort in CA. The fort was around during the 1860 to 1870s. Seems that the .41 cal matched all points of measurements, casing and bullet size.


Also found these old buttons that appear to be gold embossed.

Just got my Tejon yesterday spent a couple hours in area I have hunted in the past with few finds... Found clad and bullets only... It rained all day today... Rain in forecast all week..looks like Tigershark weather. Anticipate the finding of good crud tho... Duel disc rocks!

I am still trying to hunt between rainstorms... Nice old timer pocket knife first week, small bronze Buddhist monk pipe tamper last week and first wheatie today...I am definitely finding more with Tejon than minelab... I am just as confident about ID of target, but am making the the decision to dig in a couple seconds, pinpoint better and never even hear much of the trash, often recovering the target before I would have decided to dig with the Quattro!

the statue and wheatie I spoke of... today, first day with clean sweep coil turned up a lewis and clark 1805 - 1905 centennial exposition employee badge #2026... I rechecked the hole after finding a set of keys at 4 inches and the badge was another 3 inches down...

I'm really liking mine. My fingers stay busy rolling this and that knob. I am able to crank up the sensitivity up in some fields. I hunt a lot in all metal until i hear something , then I switch into both discs. Thats how we hunt civil war around here in fairly clean areas. The G.B. gave me a fit in all metal at first. i GOT it working good now. The Kindle book helped a lot !!

Another wheat today... Kinda crusty, soaking, looks like 1936...from small roadside park and site of old theater that burned leaving lots of melted blobs of crud... 5.75 coil!
A wheat is probably no big deal to most of you, I found only one in eight years using the Quattro for usually two months a year!

Hmmm....Ive found 7 wheats (oldest is 1919) in the past year with my X-Terra, only one in over 1 year with the Vaquero.

we both know you have to have the coil over one to find it... The Quattro performs great in the test garden... The problem with it is: it hangs on to an analyzed signal and you miss another in the same sweep... Sweep slower than dirt and in junk mode, it still does it, just not as bad...presumably, so as you sweep back and forth over the same target it can gather more info on it for better ID.... Part of the reason minelab changed the circuitry and renamed it Safari! Not sure in your case, you found what works for you, but I am detecting the same few areas, just now with the Tejon!
I don't hate any other minelab... I haven't tried them, I started with a Tesoro in 1982, found a couple dozen wheats then...so I am familiar with what the sound tells me... Have not tried a Vaquero and have no desire to do so, as I am pleased with the Tejons features...
