Posted full story in todays finds. Treasurefiend- pm me and I'll tell you exactly where I found that cross. Apparently its was right by your apt.

Anywho, Started out hunting in the woods where I found the Barber, roosie and gold bracelet, and ended up hunting a park I know many of you have hunted before. I was just going here to get my clad fix too, so I'm glad I found this beauty. It was about 9 inches deep and gave me a solid 12-06 reading. 18k, with 16-4-1913 engraved on the back with initials G & M. By far my best find ever. Thanks for looking and happy hunting.

Wow!! If I found those coins in the woods, the cross wouldn't have been found 'cuz I'd still be there!

Great finds!!!

That cross with the inscription on the back to make it personal is a superb find!

Awexome Cross Jon! That's amazing that the E-Trac grabbed that so deep... I know it's big, but still.

And now I have a great segway into why I spell awesome with an X. Back in the day when I was big into Homestarrunner.com, and this game called Awexome Cross 98 came out: http://www.homestarrunner.com/awexome.html I just started spelling it that way forever. If it's awexome enough to say awexome, then it must be extreme and worthy of an X!

GREAT Barber Quarter Too! I sure would love to find one of those... any date!

Jon,

I've got to say, those are some exceptional finds. Why don't you come out on our hunts sometime? Bring us some good luck!

I love the cross, with its engravings. However, I am a coin guy and mostly like the silver!

Now those are some really sweeeeeet finds!
Wonder what was going on (in the early '20s perhaps?) to make that cross get lost...

KEEPER!

It's 2 7/8 " long by 1 1/8 across weighing in at 6.16 grams.

Don't know if the inscription on the front is Ukranian or maybe Russian I've been told. But definately European.
