Hey everyone so today my friend and I got out for half a day and didn't find too much at first just musket balls. Then I stumbled over a small area maybe a 5' X 5' area. That's where I was able to pull out these five beauties. They are a (1805 1 Reale) (1853 Seated Dime) (1830 Half) (1851 Half) and my (1856 Half) What a day! The 1856 S. Half is the first one i pulled out and my first half dollar ever and I'm happy with the amount of detail left! My pics can't fully capture that. My bud just found musketballs and other normal odds and ends. Thanks for looking and hope ya all had a good day!

Bump and banner vote in. Any key/semi-key seated in AU condition deserves a seat up top. I see a $1500+ coin, bravo.

Okay, I thought this find would qualify for an express pass to the banner but for some strange reason it hasn't made it up there yet. I'm voting now. If anyone can explain why it doesn't qualify please fill me in.

I think it's because you posted two people's finds in the same post and that group find won't make it to the banner per the rules. Not trying to take anything away from your find--I think it's a great one!

Just a guess that the mods aren't sure if some voted for the lot. I suppose you could re-post just your coin possibly, not sure if that would be a double post. :dontknow:

I really like the Capped Bust half - I agree with this being more likely a coin spill than a cache - but what a wonderful bunch of
finds !

Yeah, you might be right about that. And if he repost it with only the coin(s) that he found it wouldn't be "Today's Finds" anymore. Oh well, the banner gods are a mysterious bunch.

Maybe you should re-write and clarify the original post as it sounds like you and your buddy found these coins and the one that you found was the '56.

Did he find any coins there? :icon_scratch:

Unfortunately for him not that day. I know that may sound weird for you easterners as you guys are always pulling out coins. Out west here old coins aren't as common and a pocket spill is really uncommon

Pocket spill like that is extremely rare anywhere. Thanks for the clarification. I'd modify your OP as it sounds like a two found those coins. Def a Banner find! Just added my vote
