We are wet as can be from rains but dry in the precious metals around my house. Drove out to see about detecting an old farm house about 20 miles from me. Cjon and I had stopped there our last permission seeking hunt and no one answered. Today a lady was in the yard but said she only rented. Bummer! Drove on out in the country down a couple unfamiliar roads, but didn't feel the need to stop anywhere. On the way home, I decided to stop at a house in a town that appeared to be renovated. The owner was there and said he just wanted to see anything I found. Small yard and only spent 45-60 minutes there. Found this neat little pin that showed gold through the dirt!

Only things found were a 1983 Canadian cent and 30 something clad US cents besides the pin. I showed the owner everything. He showed interest in the pin but declined to take it. Once I got home and cleaned it up, it was apparent that it is gold plated, darn it! Not sure of the age, but it was very pretty in it's day.

That is a neat little pin. Maybe you should drive a little further away let's say hmmm maybe 105 miles.

Lol, Chris was just texting me and saying Philly really upped his silver count. I didn't remind him that it cost him 50 bucks each trip, lol.

Old time craftsmanship. Gotta love it! Would love to see that when it was new.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy some from Scrappy and have the kids bury them so he can find them. That's what I do. Only problem I never find them but they sure do seem to always have money

I bet I could buy those on EBay for less than the 200, lol. J/k, j/k...I know, it isn't the same. It's the thrill. That's something I haven't had this year. Come to think about it, I haven't bought any big silvers this year either. Hmmm...I may need to speak to Dr. Tyler about this.

Wow that's a really nice piece! Beautiful! Probably a century old or better. It's finds like that which quiet the wives/girlfriends & lets them turn a blind eye to guys coming home late covered in dirt & poison oak. Congrats!

Funny you should say that...when I got home, my gf said this is her favorite thing I have ever found. If it had most of it's plating still, I would have a jeweler put a new pin back on it for her.

Dr. Tyler now knows what your problem is OD. I figured it out as soon as you said gf. Chris said you're always too tired to swing your coil. I know why now
