Well, I had a lucky day today. I got permission to MD at this old plantation house that I've passed for 15 yrs on the way to work. It is only 1/4 mile from work, so I have another lunch spot to hunt. The house is vacant, and has lots of old outbuildings. Too many weeds, snakes, and ticks to fully enjoy it yet though.

After work I stopped by my usual old farm hunting spot. I have been using my old 1999 Tesoro again, and since the ground is now dry, I am picking up things I've missed before. I mean BIG things like plow pieces, metal horse equip rings, coins, etc. I'm going to have to go over what I hit when the ground was wet months ago. Looks like there is plenty more I missed.
Here are a few items I found there:
*SILVER Baby!!! A 1943 Quarter. It was under a large piece of farm iron. I'm so glad I scanned the hole twice. ;D (See picture)
* 1946 & 1953D Wheats.
*A white plastic toy tire (metal axle).
*A button with lions on it that I could use help IDing. I can make out
"SPECTEMUR?AGENDO". Not sure what letter (if any) the "?" mark may be?
Any ideas on the button?

All in all a good day. Not fantastic finds, but the silver & permission made my day.
I hope everyone has a great holiday w/end. Stay safe.

SPECTEMUR AGENDO is a Latin motto meaning, "Let us be judged by our actions." It appears on numerous coats of arms. This appears to be a modern (20th century) blazer button. A number of other members have reported finding these buttons, and you should be able to check out those threads via searching on "SPECTEMUR AGENDO."

PBK,
Thanks for the ID & reply. That makes sense, because I found it under the clothesline area in the backyard.
Have a great w/end,

Congrats on the silver! New site looks great, good luck! You might look for the old out houses and follow the path to the house and it would be interesting to dig the hole out. HH, Mike

The old farm is still "putting out"! Nice job on the coins and button there.

I can't wait to see what you find at the new place!

Congratulations on the finds and getting permission!

Nice old house, MM. I've attempted to get permission to hunt 4 old plantation house spots here in my area and have been denied permission in all cases. RATS!!

I hear ya Mike. Some of these folks think we may find gold bullion buried on their properties I guess. ;D
Maybe chicken bullion? ;)
Keep at it. I've been turned down quite a few times too.

Bob,
Ticks are just another name for polititians. They suck your blood and are a pain in the butt to get rid of. ;D
Have a great week.
