This is by far the nicest pocket watch I've found. Here's a few photo's. I opened it and found a small bird hallmark and 0.800 and some numbers. Google said the hallmark was used on 80% silver swiss watch cases from 1888 to about 1907. Also a word in cursive writing. Looks like "indrerlana". If anyone has any info? Good Hunting!

Great find... it's 80% Silver :) Marked (.800)

If it was Sterling it would be 92.5% Silver marked (.925)
If it was coin silver it would be 90% Silver marked (.900) or marked (Coin)

You have a swiss made Remontoir (which means it was stem wound) probably a 6, 8 or 10 Rubis K&M Silver Mini Pocket Watch. Date range from late 1880s to early 1900s. The word you were trying to make it is the word "Cylindre". Just run a search for Remontoir rubis k&m silver pocket watch and you will find several examples very close to yours. Maybe a slight cleaning might reveal more marks, maybe some initials that could give you an idea of the specific manufacturer perhaps.

By the way, the bird logo is a grouse which is what the Swiss assayers used for .800 solid silver hallmarks.

Hope this helps.

Best,
Hunter

Wow that's a gorgeous pocket watch! There's a guy here in Maine who found an incredible solid gold engraved pocket watch and had the guts completely rebuilt so it was a working watch again. Just something to think about as that would be an amazing working piece

.800 silver is the most common alloy of mainland Europe. Love seeing the .800 stamp on things because it's not very often you find European silver here in the states.
