Went out today to Venice area. Couldn't hunt much due to the smell of dead fish washing up on shore. I could see a lot of white floating fish heading in from the gulf. Red Tide coming into Sarasota and Bradenton within the next few days unless we get some strong north winds to keep it away. I did get a silver ladies ring with black and white diamonds and a couple of coins.

Red Tide is an Algae growth that depletes oxygen in the water and has an acidic odor. The odor and air around the affected area is irratating to the eyes and lunges of those around.

I did a few hours on Venice beach this morning. Man even at low tide today i was up to my noise digging trash lol. I didnt see any dead fish there yet. The sand was still pretty deep on the bottom. Got one small signet silver ring. Traffic is starting to get busy and there seems to be a few more people hanging out on the beach. Very VERY nice ring Les.

Great find there Les! Lived in Venice from 1st to 5th grade. My father was in the Coast Guard and we spent many a day looking for sharks teeth.

News paper said it his a rather large portion of beach around Englewood. Also said it should move out in the Gulf by Sunday.... so you may catch a break. Ive not been down to Stump Pass, but sounds like there were a lot of dead fish. Getting tricky out there.... Red tide, sting rays, sharks, jelly fish.... but better than the chances you to going to one of the parks in Indy.
