I got out Saturday morning. What a beautiful day it was out there.
Nice and cool, a peaceful hunt at my old fave place that is now
a middle school, part of the land at least. I hit the soccer sidelines a bit and planned to walk the old trail dreaming of the 5 ct diamond that supposedly out there??
Well, the skeeters were eating me alive and I didn't coming prepared, my bad. So I had to leave but not before keeping the streak alive of always finding a piece of gold or silver there. I dug a 10 Kt Horse Head Pin, very thin and worthless and 1 wheat 1940. Found some other interesting relics.
I also dug an interesting implement and will get the camera out later and add a picture of it to this post. It's a pointed iron piece , old and very strange. I have no idea what it is.

No back up plan so I stopped at a schoolyard on my way back toward home but it had been searched recently in the woodchips and I didn't find much at all, a few coins and some junk jewelry. I had enough for one day and headed home to work the rest of the day on my big yardwork project.

I found a total of $4. 27 - 53 coins... a slow day for sure.

Happy hunting

I added pics of my Iron relic down below, sorry for the delay

Thanks Gypsy

All I see on front
is "Rusty".
Any idea of the age.
Looks like early 1900's maybe?

Thanks again!

Hmm... the first looks like a full metal letter opener or dagger? The second looks alot like a full metal skinning knife used to skin a deer or other animal. Just speculating... ???

Metal detecting is supposed to be a fun and enjoyable hobby in my opinion. If people only view it as a hobby for getting rich and finding only valuable items then you lose the true value of this hobby. I think the horse head is cool as well as the other charms, congratulations. :)
