Sleepy's Most Wanted (Roosevelt Dimes)

After having searched through $7,110 worth of dimes, I figured I'd get a Whitman Coin book (1946-1964 Dimes). I'm going to make it my goal to fill it by the end of the year! To the right is my "Most Wanted" List to help keep track of my progress. I want all of my finds to be from CRHing, so I won't be purchasing any of them. Here goes nothing! :headbang: 1)1955

No, but I've been on TN long enough to know how this generally turns out more times than not. :offtheair:

I hope you're the exception to how it generally turns out! I've been on the wrong side if this twice. Is your "banker" fairly high up the management chain?

No...just regular branch worker. That's another reason I was concerned. At this point, I just need to keep it open another 6 weeks till I move.

$6090 (24.36 boxes) - 28 FDRs

Notable: 1962 10 Cents 80% Ag (CAN)

Total Ag: 2.085 oz

Not only did I achieve the 7th most FDRs found in a single week, but we had a really favorable distribution of 8-19-1 (P-D-S). In fact, we found so many Denvers this week that they are now ahead of my Phillies for total quantity found in this part of the country. The more D's and S's, the better at this point in the hunt. If we can keep getting this kind of distribution, we have a shot at beating the astronomical projection of 235 FDRs needed to fill the next hole. At the moment, we're not projected to hit 235 until 16 April. Of course, I leave the state I currently live in on 3 April. After that, everything goes on hold for a while...

Thought I might break my all-time record for single day dime volume, but my main branch that supplies me with 6 boxes forgot to order them this week. Oh well...things happen. On the plus side, all FDRs found today had a mint mark.

Been trying to hit hard dime boxes between my SS cks. The other day pulled 5 boxes from my branches, score: 2,0,1,7,0. Couldn't believe that I could still get more than 2 in any one box, let alone 7. I'm happy with this, gives an avg of 2/box.

Sleepy: since you've been keeping such good track records of your finds, what would say are the TOP 10 HARDEST Silver Rosies to find in the wild to complete your sets. I'm gathering my spreadsheet info on my 4000 count of Rosies and I find that I have enough to make FIVE 5 Complete Rosie sets ( less one 1949 that keeps eluding me ). Also, I've just finished filling my 25th Rx bottle (150 piece count per bottle) of which I am going to start sorting down by year & mint mark so that I can pick out the "best-of-the-best" for folders for each of my 5-kids. The 13-grandkids are getting the Lincolns (best of the best), and naturally they will be missing the 4-KEY coins, but some of the semi-key will be included. All my collecting years since the 60's, I've never found any one of the 4-key Lincolns until just 2-years ago an elderly gentleman friend of mine gave me a 1914-D in VF condition.
If you find that you are still in need of that 1955-D and 1954-S, maybe I can help you fill the slots before I dump the remainder of the Rosie stack.

Not the best week...not the worst. Toying with the idea of not only trying to break my weekly dime volume record of $6805, but accomplishing $10K searched in a single week. My wife was thrilled to hear the idea. :laughing7: Desperate times call for desperate measures. Five weeks left, but who's counting!

Big day for the mercury dimes! Found my rarest mercury dime to date tonight with the 1930 at just 6.77M minted. It's my first sub-10M minted merc and ranks #22 on my merc list for toughest to find. The 1930 surpasses my previous best 1916S that ranks #25 on that same list. That makes 27 unique mercs out of the 77 coin set, with 59 total merc finds. In terms of quantity of mercury dimes, today set a record for most in a single day. My best mark for a single week is 5 set back in 4-9 Nov 2013, so we'll see if we can break that or not in the coming days. Good way to start the week!

Crazy! Sounds like last night was "The Night of the Mercs"! :laughing9: Or maybe it was "One Merc-ky Night"! :icon_scratch: You know what, I'll just stick to finding coins. :icon_thumright: I remember a few months back we were both pulling a bunch of mercs around the same time. Looks like it's time for another run...

Sleepy: looking back at yours & mine postings, I think that you & I are the only big time DIME HUNTERS. The rest of the guys are mostly into halves, and a few into cents.
I'm going to go back into my records from about 2012 when I started keeping stats on my CRH numbers and see what comparison year vs year. Can you do the same with yours? Should prove interesting, to see how much the numbers have dropped off, i.e. Avg/box.

Found 2 more mercs last night.
