I use 2000 GPH pump. Not sure if that'd be enough for your set up. Although, more experienced sluicers in this forum would have a better perspective.
Interesting, I think Iā€™m just shy of about 1000.
Iā€™ll have to add a 3rd pump and see where it goes.
I was debating adding angle first. Last run ended up more sand sticking.
If I could figure out how to add the video here I would.
I did a little recording of it running

More of a waterfall then a sluice :evil6:
Take it down to 5 degrees slope and add more water. 8" width= 1100gph or more 12" width = 2200 gph or more. If you were just running vmat, your flow would be enough but with riffles over expanded I would shoot for 2000 or more gph.

Ok, sounds like something Iā€™ll look into.
As of now pumps seem 110 volt 130-300
12 volt, I found some 50ish.. but at 16 amps?!? Thatā€™s a lot of juice!
Have any pump / power suggestions ?

Iā€™ll check these out.
Been kinda ill half brained thoughts, one of the thoughts I had today a ham radio power supply would work too..
13.6 our stable. I have a 50 amp one and a 35amp(needs repair) but a 20 amp would work and not stress my old house wiring lol.. I had a couple deep cycle batteries think Iā€™m storage they went to dead :I

SORRY.......... I meant 600 GPH
If you saw my video that was just shy of 1100 gph. Least pump rating.

1100 gph is a zero head rating of 18 gpm

Any head pressure significantly reduces the flow of a bilge. They actually allow water to come back out past the impeller.

Make sure all wires are at least 14gauge. Do not use corrugated hose. The shortest hose from pump to output as possible.

It's hard to find a usable flow graph. But, I suspect bilges lose about 50 gal an hour per foot of head or more.

Any additional restriction from bushings and angled joints compounds that.

In your video I see about 10 to 12 gpm if your lucky.

On my blue bowl set up I went with a 100gph pump so that I would have good controllable flow regardless of restriction.

For an at home set up a good pond/waterfall pump is a great option for recirc. its best to have more flow than you need as you can slow it down vs. struggling and making up for it with sluice angle.

Fast smooth flat flow is the best way to go.

Also ditch the riffles aren't working properly with low flow anyway.

I agree with Goldwasher..... There is no way your getting 1100 GPH flow in your sluice.
Your not getting any real exchange happening, your riffles which are way too large are just plugging up.

Watch these videos from Doc at gold hog.

I went with pump rating, they were two fountain pumps. But I noticed it was slow moved em around after it sped up.
I had the 3000gph arrive yesterday. I went to Home Depot. Yesterday got a slevive and a hose for it.
So much closer to getting running.
Found. Decent dump pump hose for 11.80 vs pool ones at 40ish.
Think I may have a 12 volt power supply from my ham radio stuff rated at 15 amps.
Woohoo getting closer..

You'll get there..... Watch the vids..... setup your mats and sluice for the size gold you are after.

Also a slick plate on a sluice is a good thing. It allows for stratification of the load before it gets to the riffles.

Then the gold doesn't have to work its way down while in the riffle but is already sliding along the bottom and has a better chance of catchment early in your sluice.

Remember.... Gold is heavy and easier to trap than you think. I deal with -100 mesh gold all the time... A picker for me is 80 mesh..:laughing7:

Once I see how this pump pushes Iā€™ll have a better idea, as for a slick plate I may end up doing the bucket method again.
It really pre stratified and broke up the material beautifully and then sent it on to the sluices.. just had to low of flow and sand backloaded.
Bad thing is after getting this pump I noticed a duty cycle of 30 min whoops!!
Will give it a whirl though.
Iā€™ll post some results when I get the time to go live on it.
