Lucky it was a little cold and windy this morning as I arrived to the sale with only 10 minutes before opening. I was worried there would be 50-80 people ahead of me which only turned out to be 15.

First thing I grabbed was the Seth Thomas ships bell, at $65 I was a little hesitant as I don't know enough about them or the different models or even if this one worked.(it does run but didn't chime yet...)
Then I did a little deeper looking and the Dorothy Thorpe bowls caught my eye.
I sifted through the junk jewelry that the salespeople had separated from the good stuff and pulled out the crucifix and chain, the lady says as I'm looking at it that it's not gold and she checked already. That's ok I said, I still want it. It's marked on the side, hee hee!

Driving home I passed by a local GW and decided to stop in. Nothing real good until I checked on this model of Kirby vacuum. The Sentria model and it's working fine.
$7.97 and it's mine, unfortunately no other attachments and I need to clean the **** out of it.

Total spent today was $110.00 and what is the stuff worth? Don't really know until it's all sold but I know I did alright.

You did well. The clock alone should more than double your money. Kirby's are built like tanks, hard to find quality like that anymore, even if emptying it can get nasty.

The kirbys now use hepa bags so it's not like the old, old models. I used to cringe whenever I saw one at a sale...I used to sell these back in the late 80's. Rough job, more than once I was told to leave the home at gunpoint and later chased down the street for the sale because the wife wanted it so much. Can't blame the guys, the set cost $1500.00 back then.

My mother had one back in the 70's. In the 80's I managed a bowling center. I used a Kirby to vacuum that place every day. The only thing that went wrong with it in all those years was the brush wore out.
