3 weeks ago, I found this 44 cal. Smith and Wesson New Model 3 Japanese contract revolver in a WW2 to Korean War dump in the same area where the Cuba coke bottle was found. This revolver was made between 1880 to 1910. In the 1890s the Japanese had a contract with Smith and Wesson and imported 38 and 44 cal New Model 3 revolvers as they did not yet develop small firearms industry.. Some of these were used by the Imperial Japanese Army all the way up to WW2. As this one was missing some parts I believe it was discarded around 1945. This is one of the best relics I have ever found

Jeff that's one great looking piece that you dug up, congrats on the find.

Better than a hammered but was it good as a gold? :)

Great piece! Electrolysis would keep it from rusting more and save what you have. Will give it a nice patina also. Tony

That'll look awesome as a display piece with a little information plaque.

Rusty Gold there !!! :occasion14:

exciting day when ya get one ! Are you stationed in the South Pacific ?
