...to a big find. I was hunting a wooded area near a stone wall and all was quiet except for the usual rifle shells etc. when i got a good hit and out popped a big 1856 mayflower nova scotia one penny token. After that i gained some energy back and went further in when i got another big hit. I pulled out a old round hinged case full of dirt. When i pulled some soil out i saw the edge of a coin and almost had a heart attack. Hoping there was more i got home to clean it and it was the only coin. A 1927 nickel. Under the coin was some remnants of folded paper so its possible a bill was in there too at one time. Still has some cool factor but i wish it would've been full and with some silver coins or even better a gold. Also got a telescope lens. Thanks for looking! [emoji2]

You hit the target, just not the bullseye

It's just like they say if you don't play the lottery you'll never win the millions

I would call that a free ticket to going out again and trying for that big one!

still pretty cool and it was the momentary heart stopper that gets us all excited even if only for a moment

That big copper is nice. The little nickel find is cool too. Maybe next time you get the mason jar full of silver and gold.

Nice recovery on the One Penny Token, and the Nickel is a really cool find.

Nice find. Its always nice to open a compact case and have a coin in it. Gives it a personal touch. It just hasnt happened for me yet ! I always find the empty case.

This time it was already broke open and filled with mostly dirt instead of coins. Haha
I wonder if the front open circle was glass at one time?
