at an area casino and one cage teller shows the one I am working with a 1921 Peace Dollar someone just turned in. You KNOW I was really wishing I could offer to buy it but she set it aside in a "special" area. Don't tell me those people don't know the value of silver. I know for a fact some of them collect, and they always peruse my dumps later, so they tell me. I've never told them not to bother, lest they start refusing to cash my dumps.

Where are casinos still using coin? all I have been in the last few years are all paper. Love those coin operated machines!

They still use halves at the blackjack table. And the cages all still have coin machines for whatever reason. They will exchange your coin with no fee!

Very few use any coin at all, and no halves. But they will cash in your coin (usually limit to $500/day). I cash and play, eat, hit the movies, or just run out the door as the need arises.

So why didn't you buy it?

Because it was obvious they knew the relative value, and I don't want to start raising eyebrows about my dumps. They only know I collect - halves, cents, dimes, nickels and occasionally dollars large and small. Keep 'em guessing and tip by the bag returned and they'll keep cashing me in.
