I really like that first photo. I am going to guess that last one is a bottom of a broken pipe? :dontknow:

Well its made from pottery. The last pic is the broken end. Ill reveal the results in a couple of days after the guessing is over. I was there when Loyd decided on what he thought it might be. The person found it in the same creek I hunt but further down stream. Good Luck, rock

My hands and bare feet!
I'm gonna say its a effingy game piece/ or shadow puppet. Looks like it was made to stand up to me.

OK well since most must be stumped just like myself when I saw it and got to hold it. I guessed a pottery paddle made from pottery.
The person in charge of the show wrote a book on NA pottery from our area which is coming out this yr. He is considered a expert in that area.
He said it was a "Rattle Head".
The flat part was attached onto a pot and then the part that is broken had a effigy head on it with seeds in it to make it rattle. The head was never found so we dont know what it looked like. Loyd said it was the only piece like it he has ever seen in all of his yrs collecting which I believe he said 35 yrs.
So there you have it Rattle Head.

Nice finds! That 1st pic looks like a stylized rooster head imo.

The first pic is from the Mississippian period its a effigy. Its broken at the base but crafted very well.
The second pic is a game piece. Last yr at the show a guy offered him 5k for it. I was there when it happened as you can see he turned him down cause he still has it. These arent mine by the way they were other peoples finds from my area that I live in.
Thanks everyone, rock
