The toy jet is a Tootsietoy, I think from the 50's.
I got a kick out of watching my four year old daughter play with it :)

hey tootsies are as cool as it gets! great finds, thanks, guess you like you Gold too, how deep are you finding the coins?

Hi dirtlooter,
Yeah I love gold, and I can't wait for the weather to warm up down this way, so I can go looking for some.

Most of the coins are only 10 - 15cm.

actually I left out a word, I meant the AT GOLD, I am still learning mine but really like it and I enjoy your posts

Cool finds.

I've found three of those "no cash value" tokens. They must have made millions of 'em.

I actually looked it up and there's an interesting story with them. The first one I found has the mint mark "RWM" on the left front which stands for Robert Williams Mint. The company president came under indictment for ripping off the Canada transit system of millions of dollars through the production of millions of bogus mass transit tokens.

Here's an article:

Roger Williams Mint Demise

I like it when there's a back story to a find, even if it's a common token.

Happy Hunting

Yeah, it's the first detector I've owned, so I don't have much to compare it with, but I do love it.
And it gets easier the more I use it.

If I could, I would add wireless headphones, and add a backlight to the display to the AT Gold.

I agree totally, the wires drive me nuts at times and the back light would help tremendously
