Hope I do this right-I found this out in my yard, near an old barn foundation where stuff just keeps surfacing. It’s pretty corroded and I can’t see what is beneath the glass, so there is no clue what it’s function might be. It’s heavy for its size-around 2 1/2 lbs. Any ideas? Looks like a speedometer gauge to me as the part on the back is where the cable would run from the transmission to the gauge.

You know, we did wonder if it came off a truck..in the not to far off vicinity of this item, and the foundation, I found an old iron bumper jack. We thought maybe they used to park vehicles back there

If you play a bit with the rust that comes inside the tube and will find some square/triangular wire coming in that's most probably speedometer.

Folks, I'm as mystified as everyone else but the end sticking out sure looks like a spark plug. This might have been part of a spark plug testor!

The size of the tube suggest either some thick gauge wire or pressure so can't be bike, or bicycle speedo, the entering wire would be way thinner.

The part that you see sticking out is threaded-I don’t know much about mechanical things, but it doesn’t appear to be a spark plug.
