Thomas Jefferson Connelly born in Long Gully ST Just Point . his father was an american from cornish decent .His family worked the coal mines of Pennsylvania and married a cornish woman.Named after the U.S president.lawyer by trade and became the Mayor of Sandhurst [bendigo] at the age of 29.St Just Point had a huge cornish population and most worked the deep quarzt gold mines in the area.Cornish miners had family in cornwall, Pennsylvania and Victoria [Sandhurst] i clear evidence from research that plenty of people came here from Pennsylvania and some went from here to there.this amazing connection went on from 1852 till 1920.Connelly was the most famous that i could find.Seem some left a nice silver for me to find. .other names include Heeps Derwent Ellis all very Corny hahahahahh Will get a list of names from graveyard trust and bet some will match to coal miner graves of Pennsylanvia.gee i could be related to Geff of pa hahahahh.Heres my only silver american coin found for the year.Pic of mayor of Sandhurst.Seems the world was as far a part a 100 years ago.
