Got back out to hunt a spot yesterday where I found a cut Spanish silver recently. Not much area in this one spot left but I went over the spots that I didn't hit before and my very first signal of the day was another Spanish! This one is an 1807 1 Reale in decent shape. At least I can read all the letters and see the main outline features of Carolus IIII. Of course, as it goes many times, the rest of the day didn't turn up much. Some buttons that I missed (1 actually has a face design of either tiny grapes/leaves or flowers, it's hard to see but it's there. That button is the one next to the Reale), some lead, two pennies from out in the field (got excited about those hoping for a Flying Eagle....turned out to be crusty Memorial Lincolns that I guess the farmer dropped), a beat up and worn out thimble, and one of the coolest finds was the homemade tin shoe sole. I think I will probably put it in the center of my display when I put this site's finds together in a case. It's not as old as the buttons/coins but you can't get much more personal with someone long, long gone than the sole of their shoe....... Still very muddy out in that field so I suspect I will find a few more odds and ends but this is probably the best of what was there. I hunted it pretty hard with my etrac/Ulitmate 13 inch coil and my CTX with the stock coil. I'll go over it again sometime when the ground dries up. Maybe I can talk the land owner into planting that field again this year...... Happy Hunting!
