Here is a list of vessels lost in the area of discussion up to 1900. Some of these may be offshore, and many were refloated and/or salvaged, so not all are candidates for the Lavallette Wreck. A few have specific locations given, but most are given simply as "Squan" or "Squan Beach," which could be anywhere. A list like this could never hope to be complete.

This wreck was uncovered by a
storm and salvaged in 1937.

Likewise, there are many anonymous fishing snags and other unknown wreckage up and down the coast, any of which could prove to be one of these wrecks. Or, more likely, they have either sunk into the sand or been consumed by the surf.

don't know where u got your information, but, these wrecks or aleast most of them have broken up and wentr to pieces, and are buried in the sand. i been researching wrecks off the jersey coast for last 30 years, in a month the first of 4 part series books will be published and released. first part is from 1565 to 1799, 2nd part 1800 to 1850, 3rd part 1851 to 1875, 4th part 1876 to 1899
i wil tell u where they are, why u cannot find them, and most have interesting stories behind them, 8.5 x 11 format, easy to read includes old place names, indian names, wrecks off coast, in lakes, rivers, harbors, etc., each part contains minimum of 250 pages and 100's of wrecks...............if u want the real truth, real locations, real facts, u know where to get it, and i offer a quarterly subscription, we are a group of professional researcher, and yes there are many treasure vessels in there too!
