Perhaps I am too new to all of this. ..but that looks like a normal 20 dollar bill to me...I see the asterisk after the serial number, but what does that mean?

So after reading that I went through my wallet and discovered a 1 dollar bill with the star in the serial number. There is so much stuff to look at on this money any more I have no idea what the error might be. Pretty cool tho!
I have heard stories about old timers passing away in my area. "Chicago to be specific". Grand or great grand kids inherited a safty depost box with 2,000 in cash. All 1920-30's bills...
I keep all my 1 dollar star notes. Its easy to collect them. I do have some series that were only about 320,000 print runs. They do command a premium depending on the federal reserve bank. The best one so far for me was a near mint 2003A series, New York Federal reserve note. Low series serial number B12 800 001* W - B13 120 000* (sheets). Not sure what the (sheets) means but I do have a note that falls within that range. Listed at $50 CH CU.
I collect oddball stuff like radar notes too when I come across them. I don't buy anything. Just keep what I run across in circulation.
My coworkers' brother works in D.C. printing money (that's the BEST job any printer can get;great money, fantastic benefits and awesome retirement package ).
I should ask about these notes. I've collected coins my entire life as well as silver certificates but I was completely unaware of these bills. I'll have to start keeping my eyes peeled for them.
Gotta' love Treasurenet. You always learn something new here.
