Got out just before the recent cold spell with granthansen and ErikinNJ for a full-day hunt at a large private spot near me that we've hit before. Grant already posted his George II copper and each of us found some interesting relics. Here was my take, including what I believe to be a deconstructed sterling silver pocket knife, 2 ornate suspender clips, a flat button (had another larger one but it jumped out of my finds' pouch), a warrior figurine, and a few t/b/d's. I think the cross/anchor/heart (symbols for faith/hope/charity) piece is the top to a rosary bead or some other small tin. No old coinage to speak of this time, but some nice relics instead. HH

Very Nice digs. The knife sure did clean up. After years in the ground, it looks brand new. Great job.

WOW that knife is BE-U-T-FUL! That's a heck of a find, I would rather dig that than a gold ring, not that I wouldn't take a gold ring! hehe

Thanks for all the comments.
@Gunrunner: there is a backmark, but after several cleanings, I can't make anything out. Probably the usual "rich colour" type marking.
@ctitech0019: could very well be a straight razor. Any contents have almost all rusted away leaving only the silver outer parts. There is another recent post based on mine that shows a sterling pocket knife, so I'm leaning on that.
@granthansen: your copper was my favorite find of the day--trade?

What an interesting group of finds. My niece goes to Keuka College in the Finger Lakes District of New York. That looks like an equipment tag of some sort.
