Drove some distance to the 3 small fields that have yet to be planted. Started on the 2nd of the 3 & didn't have a great deal after 1.5 hours. So Dad got bored & his mind wondered to the massive field across the road with the Bronze Age Burial in it. I said we should stick at this field but decided to give it ago. Big mistake the land is so roughly ploughed you could break a leg. Wondered for ages to find what was left of the ploughed out mound. Found very little in 1.5 hours (photo 2). We both agreed not to do this field again until it was flatter & to stick with the other 3.

Best finds were a Livery Button & Clog Clasp.

One of our worst day in awhile, but to be expected when doing new land.

Some of you may know what one of the coins are

Not even the powers of the XP could pull anything from these fields. But with some hard work we will find the odd one or two things. There was a least some lead in the first field.

i managed three coins in my back garden with the lobo! is it right that the more high pitched signals are more shallow?

Hard to remember now, but yes it sounds higher the closer it is to the coil. But thats depends on the type of object (metal type) & size.

It will take loads of time but this will improve your hit rate

(do as Woody says - Ses. Max & disc 1.5, he knows)

It looked tudor when I found it, but its a modern globe button.

The Chartwheel was as posted 'Robinson, Culter, Oxford'. Fairly common as I have a 1807 penny with the same advert but stamped in a different shape.

So do you have like your own museum yet?

Chris

I rotate displays in the local Amateur Museum, as most of the artefacts on display are mine, then the reply is kinda yes. Up until I joined the committee it was mostly pictures & documents.

Shaun if you use that setting with the Lobo coke will always come through a good signal, you will be torchered with it :icon_scratch:
