So I have been back to the street tear out a couple times since my last thread and have found a few odds and ends, which I'll post pics of as well. But...today I found a bucket list coin (at least for my bucket list!!!) After searching some of the sidewalks that were torn up I hit a nickel signal, it was kinda choppy but was definitely in the nickel range. After digging it up I realized I had a 1868 shield nickel in my hand!!! YEEEEESSSSSSS!!! I can't express how excited I was! I had been hoping to find a V nickel or even a war nickel so you can imagine my expression when that shield popped out! So far that street tear out has produced a bunch of wonderful relics and a few awesome coins! I can't wait to get back out there again...they just tore up the street in front of one of the oldest elementary schools in the town!!! ๐ฌ Here are some of the items I have found over the last two hunts including the shield nickel!
Not sure what this is. It is definitely round and sized like a coin but seems to have something attached to the back like a button or knob. Will try to clean up and let everyone know when I figure it out.
Nice little wooden ruler hinge. Wood still attached on each side!
Barlow knife innards, too bad its missing everything else! Lol
Old broken and bent file.
I found this broken horse shoe under what used to be the sidewalk outside of a elementary school!
THIS IS MY BEAUTY!!! Can't describe my joy!!! ๐
Nice old half of a pocket knife, other side is missing, still has bone in tact!
